The Widauer family established their Vineyard on the
fertile chocolate loam soil in Wee Waa, which is a part
of the beautful Namoi Valley . Wee Waa is an Aboriginal
name, meaning "Fire for Roasting" and is situated
in the North-West of New South Wales in Australia. With
the warm summer sun, the grapes produce excellent sugar
and colour resulting in an early harvest and a superb
range of Award Winning red and white Wines and Ports.

The Cellar Door is a refurbished school woodwork room,
which was built on the grounds of the Central School
in 1934. It was known as the dog shack as it was similar
to a building found in a popular cartoon of the times.
Visitors can still see the holes that were drilled in
the floor to let out the floodwaters that inundated
the building prior to the levy bank being placed around
the township to protect it from flooding.
A large decking was built onto the building providing
a great venue for parties, functions and weddings as
well as a place for visitors to sit back and unwind
in the tranquil surrounds overlooking the gum trees
and lagoon. The building and decking features Cyprus
Pine, Iron Bark benches and roundback logs. Downlights
and table lamps provide a romantic and relaxing atmosphere
for visitors in the evening. Lindy Widauer was influenced
by the warm, cosy atmosphere found in Austrian Guesthouses
and Bars and wanted to create the same warm, friendly
atmosphere along with a distinct Australian Bush feel.

Lindy's husband Seppi came from Austria and it was
their dream to make their own wine and open a Cellar
Door. Sadly Seppi died suddenly on the 23rd March 2004
and Lindy and her children Jamie and Simon decided to
complete the project they had envisaged for many years.
The Cellar Door / Function Centre was opened to the
public on 1st April 2006. Already there have been many
visitors who have enjoyed the wines, ports, company
and atmosphere. Catering is available for individuals,
groups, meetings and functions and families and children
are welcome.
Beautiful gift packs, souvenirs and other local products
and produce can also be purchased at the Winery and
Eftpos is available.
We would love you all to visit us, but if you can't,
the next best thing is to order some of our award winning
wine and sit back, relax and enjoy!
