The Wee Waa Museum - The museum is home to many wonderful exhibits relating to the local area including history of agriculture such as cotton, wheat and wool.

Yarrie Lake - 15 minutes drive - An unexplained miracle of nature - a 3km expanse of water on the edge of the Pilliga Scrub. A natural Bird breeding ground, camping, water sports, swimming and catching craybobs. Wonderful sunsets, Photography.

Burren Bore - 30 minutes drive - free natural hot artesian bore baths. A large cement pool surrounded by tamarind trees and filled with hot water, which flows out from the artesian basin under natural pressure and has been in existence for over a century.

The Australia Telescope - 20 minutes drive. Six 22 metre dishes, spaced along a 3km track. The free visitor's centre provides an excellent display and video presentation explaining the concepts behind the telescope and radio astronomy.

Australian Cotton Centre - 30 minutes drive - High-tech exhibits, including the 3-D theatre and a beat the buzzer cotton quiz. Rate yourself as a cotton farmer and test your strength to see if you could press a bale of cotton. Gift shop with natural cotton products.

Mount Kaputar National Park - 1 Hour drive - Rugged mountains left behind by volcanic eruptions between 17 and 21 million years ago. Superb views, picnic areas and walks. A wide variety of plant and animal species. Kangaroos and threatened species - including bats, birds, wallabies, quolls and a unique large pink slug.

Sawn Rocks - 1 Hour Drive - Sawn Rocks is a 40 metre basalt cliff face featuring perpendicular-octagonal shaped rocks, resembling a giant series of organ pipes.

- 2 ½ hour drive - A fantastic outback Opal Mining Town boasting a range of cultural and historical tourist attractions, and leisure facilities.
